Compact long-range NIR laser pointer / illuminator, encapsulated in a sealed aluminum housing. This compact size laser provides the system designer the capability of integrating a powerful laser into the crowded space of the gyro-stabilized gimbals system. For small UAVs where the size does count, a new design is provided, in which the system is split into 2 parts, laser unit (laser and optics) and laser driver; therefore most of the weight can be located where ever the system designer will decide. This housing will be mounted inside gimbal systems, with a boresight mechanism and the optics.
